Grand Re-Opening of the City of Pahokee Gym
The City of Pahokee is excited to re-opening the City's gym.
Next Tuesday February 16th, 2021. The City of Pahokee will have a ribbon cutting on the Renovated Parks and Recreation Gymnasium. A facility that’s been closed for almost 13 years due to neglect and dilapidation issues. This is also a ribbon cutting to rename the Gymnasium after a well known Educator and Coach; Eddie Lee Rhodes coached high school championship teams in this gym.
This is an invite only event and social distancing will be implemented. There will be a tour following the ribbon cutting. We may also highlight the new artificial turf football field that was recently completed a year prior year and talk about the upcoming plans for a new city hall in the adjacent Old Pahokee High School building. (a structure that’s on the National Historic Registry).
